Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Presenters to the Moody Blues
Cleveland is buzzing with rock legends and fans as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame plays host to the April 14, 2018, induction ceremony.
"The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame means so much to this community and it's wonderful to share such an exciting event with all our neighbors," said CEO Greg Harris, who welcomed members of The Moody Blues and Bon Jovi to help dedicate the new Hall of Fame Gallery on April 13.
Once the rockers unveiled the 2018 inductees' signed plaque, the sound of Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name" filled the hall. Onlookers cheered as the inductees offered a few words.
Representing The Moody Blues, Justin Hayward, who was in attendance with Graeme Edge, John Lodge, and former bandmate Mike Pinder, thanked the Rock Hall.
"We're all very grateful really to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for being that kind of temple to everything that we loved when we were children growing up—and all of the music that we loved, and that's absolutely true. I think for us and the Moodies, we knew that once they'd opened the door, for the first time, to our fans to vote for us to be in this wonderful place, it was like a steamroller baby! We were gonna get in," said Hayward, with a bit of a laugh.
"So we're very thrilled about that. It means a lot to us, I can say that, it means a lot to us in the group. It means a lot to all the people who love the music."

Jon Bon Jovi, who was representing Bon Jovi, with bandmates, including former guitarist Ritchie Sambora nearby, said, "You know, any kid who strums a broomstick dreams of making a record. Every kid who makes a record dreams of having fame. And every guy who has a minute of fame dreams about having as close to immortality as any of us are ever gonna know, and that's having written songs that'll outlive us all. The kindness of the generations around this globe have allowed me, my guys— I think I can speak on behalf of the Moodies, or anyone else who ever strummed that broomstick, that opportunity to touch heaven. And so we now join a very elite group as members of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and on behalf of my guys, I want to say, 'We're thrilled, we're honored, and it's about F*#$ing time.'"
Fans who will miss the live Hall of Fame festivities, can watch the ceremony next month when it airs exclusively on HBO, May 5, 2018 at 8 p.m. ET.
And for those visiting Cleveland, rock fans will have a lot more to celebrate.
"The Rock Hall has been undergoing a multi-year transformation that reimagines everything about how music fans interact with the Hall of Fame," CEO Harris says. "We've transformed our displays into dynamic, interactive and memorable exhibits. The new Hall of Fame floor captures the greatest moments of the past three decades of Hall of Fame inductees. We also have new interactive fan voting stations that give visitors the opportunity to voice their choice for which artists should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in the future. These new experiences add to the signature Power of Rock Experience, which opened last summer, that gives fans a front-row seat to some of the greatest induction ceremony performances of the past 30 years. For music lovers of all generations, we're creating an experience that cannot be missed."
